An ACO polyethylene tank is air-cooled, not water-cooled. We’ve chosen this slower process to ensure better cures for more stable parts for the polyethylene tank. All cross-linked ACO double wall storage tanks consistently achieve gel tests in the high 70% to low 80% range throughout the tank, significantly higher than the ASTM minimum of 60%. What does this mean to the end user? ACO tanks last longer for long-term storage of harsh chemicals.
The ACO Container polyethylene tank is designed and molded with a uniform wall thickness equal to or greater than the minimum thickness requirement per the Barlow Formula. This standard procedure in the ACO manufacturing process allows the part to cure evenly throughout the entire surface area, thus allowing a more controlled and higher cross-linking percentage with less stress on the part when reaching the cooling process. The end result will give each unit greater structural integrity and a longer life span.
